E-Waste Recycling for Autism
E-Waste Recycling Event to Benefit Autism Awareness Hosted by Scioto Ridge United Methodist Church (Hilliard, Ohio) On Saturday, January 20, 2018, Community Computer Alliance and the Scioto Ridge United Methodist Church are teaming up to offer an electronics recycling drive at the Scioto Ridge United Methodist Church, 4343 Dublin Rd, Hilliard, OH 43026. Anyone wishing to donate computer equipment and other electronics can drop items off at the church’s parking lot from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. – just follow the signs marked “Recycling Event.” Volunteers will be on hand to unload the donated items. All electronic data and personal information from computers is professionally erased by a secured three-pass scrub of the hard drives using a method that observes R2 compliant standards. Acceptable items for donation include: most all electronic devices, computers, laptops, iPads, iPods and PDAs, cell phones, gaming systems, home stereos, VCRs and DVD players, wires and cables, LCD and CRT monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, scanners, copiers, ink and toner cartridges and computer parts and accessories. We are also now accepting gently used clothes, hats, and shoes for our upcoming thrift store. **Please note items containing Freon will not be accepted and a small fee will be charged for televisions ($3.00 per inch) and CRT monitors ($20.00 ea.). ## Community Computer Alliance is a non-profit organization that offers workforce development to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Participants learn valuable job skills through dismantling, sorting and rebuilding electronics, and training in workplace environment.
