Light Ohio Blue is a week-long campaign to show support to the law enforcement personnel who protect our communities, and a way to honor and pay respects to the law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty.
This year, HPD is once again asking for your assistance in helping us Light Ohio Blue from May 9-16 in coordination with National Peace Officers Memorial Day on May 15. The campaign began in Central Ohio in 2016 when law enforcement, business and government stakeholders came together to light the Columbus skyline blue for one week in May. This year, marks the third year the program has been implemented statewide.
How can you help Light Ohio Blue? Place a blue bulb on your exterior porch light; light up your entire home or business with blue flood lights; place blue ribbons on your mailbox, nearby columns or posts; and wear blue on May 15.
Most importantly, tell your friends, family and neighbors what you are doing, and post a picture to social media using #LightOhioBlue2021
For more information visit LightOhioBlue.org, or find Light Ohio Blue on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Thank you for your support of law enforcement, and we hope you will assist us as we Light Ohio Blue this May.
