Briarwood Sporting Club, Bellefontaine, OH, just 45 min from Hilliard, is the largest, members' only fishing and hunting preserve east of the Mississippi and offers 5 lodges as well.

Briarwood is an exclusive, member-only private fishing and whitetail hunting preserve located in beautiful Logan County. On this 470-acre beautiful wilderness escape, what may be Ohio’s best kept and exclusive outdoors destination, people discover scenic vistas, spring water streams, gorgeous lakes and ponds, and timbered hills along with a multitude of wildlife from Osprey to minks.

The preserve began in 1977 as a member’s only fly fishing preserve and today offers the Ohio’s finest and most accessible trout fly fishing. Fishing is both catch-and-release, or catch-and-keep at anglers discretion. Fish cleaning and smoking services are provided for members and guests.

Enjoy hiking, wildlife photography and of course, lake/stream fishing. Their private streams offer some of the finest fly fishing in the country for Rainbow, Brown, Brook, Golden and Blue species. Lakes and ponds deliver trophy Largemouth, Smallmouth, and Striped Bass, Walleye, Pike, Muskie, and 4 other species of panfish including Yellow Perch, Bluegill and Crappie. Complimentary fly fishing lessons and stream advice/tips are available.
